GlobusWorld will be back next year April 14-16, 2015. Save the date!
In the meantime, explore the presentations from GlobusWorld 2014 and watch a video of the opening keynote by Ian Foster.

Welcome to GlobusWorld 2014!

Join us for the year’s biggest gathering of all things Globus. Learn how to get more out of your data, and connect with other HPC administrators, research scientists, and developers who are building and using cutting-edge solutions to wrangle data.

As Globus continually adds powerful new features and functionality—such as Provider Plans, sharing, and groups—GlobusWorld is the best venue to learn how to take advantage of these tools. You will be inspired by what you can do to make your data accessible and dynamic.

Our main theme this year is Setting Up a Campus Data Service. Many campus IT professionals are charged with creating a flexible, highly-available service for moving data to, from, and within their campus. This year's agenda includes tutorials, presentations, and opportunities to engage with the Globus team and our partners, to help you design and implement a solution that meets your institution’s needs.

5 Things You’ll Take Away from GlobusWorld:

  1. Harness Your Data. (And your users’ data.) You’ll learn how Globus can help you get a grip on the data that is flowing in and out of your systems--and be ready for more.
  2. Learn Best Practices. By hearing from other administrators and scientists, you’ll find out what works and what doesn’t in research data management.
  3. Gain mastery of the latest tools for data. You’ll leave here with knowledge of the latest applications and services, and how to use them.
  4. Get to know your counterparts. Find strength in numbers: meet other people working on the same problems you are, and extend your network.
  5. Look to the future. Be the first to know what’s in the pipeline from Globus and others in the HPC community.

New in 2014: Biosciences/Genomics Program

On Day 2 of the conference (April 17), we’ll have a special presentation block devoted to research data in genomics and biosciences. In addition, our own Globus Genomics team will present the latest capabilities available from their fast-growing service.

Connect. Engage. Enjoy!

Connecting with others is an important part of GlobusWorld. In addition to the technical sessions and workshops, conference participants can look forward to:

  • A poster session and cocktail reception on Tuesday evening
  • A dinner event in Chicago on Wednesday evening

GlobusWorld is a meeting of the minds: a chance to transfer knowledge, share ideas, and collaborate with others in the field. Join us at Argonne National Laboratory from April 15-17 for quality tutorials, talks, and networking.

Why Attend?

  • Learn from the experts on the best ways to apply Globus technologies
  • See how to easily enable your HPC resources for use with Globus
  • Hear how other institutions are using Globus
  • Connect with colleagues and Globus developers
